A soccer goal target sheet is a sheet/tarp that attaches to the front of a soccer goal. The sheet has cut-out scoring zones placed in the corners. Rather than shooting into an open net, players aim shots at the corners. The ball will only go in the goal if the shot is accurate and goes through one of the cut-outs. This trains accuracy and shot placement over raw power. It's one of the most effective training tools for developing shooting accuracy. It is great for solo training and team training.
Which soccer target sheet fits my goal?
FORZA target sheets are built to fit specific FORZA goal models. Check the specifications and descriptions on the product pages. Many of the sheets are designed for specific goal designs and sizes, whilst the targets tend to fit around all crossbar/posts.
How does a target sheet attach to a soccer goal?
Most FORZA target sheets attach using elastic bungee cords or straps that loop around the crossbar and posts.
What are top bins targets?
"Top bins" is a term originating from the UK, which means the top corner of the goal. Nobody knows for sure where the phrase comes from, but there are two commonly repeated origin stories. The first is that some coaches literally attached plastic trashcans or "bins" to the top corners of the goal as accuracy targets. The second is more general British slang - a "bin" being any small enclosed space, similar to how the top corner of the goal is a tight pocket where the ball gets tucked away out of the goalkeeper's reach. These days, you can buy purpose-made top-bins targets designed specifically for soccer goals.
Can target sheets be used solo?
Yes - solo shooting practice is one of the best ways to use a target sheet. Set the sheet on your goal, mark out a shooting spot, and work through repetitions aiming for specific targets (the cut-out areas). For an intense and efficient shooting exercise, pair a goal and target sheet with a soccer rebounder - for pass, receive, turn and shoot drills.
Are target sheets suitable for Canadian outdoor conditions?
Yes. FORZA target sheets use weather-resistant fabric and heavy-duty stitching built for outdoor training use. Between sessions, store the sheet folded and in an area that is not subject to freezing or hot temperatures. Through Canadian winters, storing the sheet indoors will extend its service life.
